Cat's cradle is a two-person game played with a string tied into a knot from both ends. While not directly addressed, the image of cat's cradle is incorporated into the song through the constant motifs of "thread" and "knots". The duo's relationship is particularly emphasized by the necessity for two players and the knot's symbolism, as the cat cradle thread is completed when the two ends of the string are tied together and the completed shape is also in a loop, which goes on for all eternity. As such, the loosened or tied condition of the thread further expands on the emotions described in the rest of the lyrics.

Taking shelter in the rain together is a romantic trope used often in movies and manga, but it can also be interpreted as a situation in which two people are forced in one place together, unable to leave until the rain stops.
