*Translator’s Note:There is a double meaning for “heart” in this song, with 心臓 being a biological term referring to the literal heart and ココロ in katakana referring to one’s soul or emotional heart. In its specific usage in the song, ココロ is seen to be the narrator’s personal possession whereas 心臓 is spoken in the general sense, and the narrator’s heart fails to keep the desire to continue living as hearts are usually supposed to do.

*Translator’s Note:
御来光 means “the rising sun”, but it has the background of being the sunrise that Buddha saw after climbing a steep mountain, achieving enlightenment in the process. As such, the word may mean that the narrator cannot achieve a sense of enlightenment or at-peaceness within herself.
